Reed Diffuser

I already eyeing this kind of item for months, even before i tried the electric fragrance. But i never bought it because i haven't found the smell that i really like. Then, today I went to Lovely Lace randomly and found out that they sell Reed Diffuser too!! I immediately smell all of the fragrance. At Lovely Lace Mall Kelapa Gading, they sell Teddy's Dream, Honeysuckle, Lavender, and Lemon Grass. I haven't check at Mall Taman Anggrek and Plaza Senayan, so i don't know whether they have another scent or not, as MKG's Lovely Lace is the least complete out of other stores.

I was torn between Honeysuckle and Teddy's Dream, as they both smells really good. Honeysuckle is the best seller for Reed Diffuser, and Teddy's Dream is best seller for it's aromatic oil. But after smelling the TD, I noticed that TD's smell is different between the Reed Diffuser and aromatic oil. I choose the TD instead of honeysuckle only because it has a Teddy Bear's picture on it's bottle, while honeysuckle is only your everyday vintage-looking flower :P

The aromatic one is a bit too sweet for ones who doesn't really like sweet fragrance, but the Reed Diffuser has totally different kind of sweetness than the aromatic oil. Heck, you wouldn't even know it was also TD if wasn't for its name. Anyway, here's inside of the packaging:

What it says on packaging:
"Reed Diffuser is an easy, effective and safe way to diffuse continuous fragrance throughout your environment. No smoke, drippy wax or the anxiety of burning candles"
What to do:
Open the bottle of fragrant oil and discard the cap inside. Slip the decorative sleeve over the neck of the bottle and insert the willow reeds. Fragrance bloom within 48 hours.

How it works:
The aromatic oils are absorbed up through the slender willow reeds and released naturally, enhancing every moment of everyday with spelndid fragrance that lasts up to four months (depending of your surroundings.)

Where to use:
Enhance the decor of any space you like. Reed Diffuser is great for those "no candle zones" such as offices, dorm rooms and homes with young children.

Weellll..... Those were from the packaging. As for me, first time I used it, I insert the willow reeds to the bottle for 30 minutes, then turned it upside down, the soaked side on the top, and the dry side now is soaking inside the bottle. The shop assistant said that it'll last until 2 days before you turned it upside down again.
But looking from the willow reeds, the oils are slowly going up to the dry side, so i don't know whether must I turned it up again after 2 days or not. Anyway, here's the pic after I use it:

For the bottle i bought (200ml), it cost Rp 175.000,- . It might sound a little bit pricey, but seeing that it can make your room smell good for 24 hours with do nothing about it, i think it's quiet worth it. besides, they said it'll last for 4 months if used non-stop, meaning that we'll get longer time if we didn't use it everyday non-stop :D

If you want to try it first, they sell the smaller packaging, and they sell the refill bottle too (i forgot the ml, probable for the big bottle), but with no reeds and no wooden sleeve, just like regular bottle with caps.

Pros: the smell is working like aromatic oil, it didn't smell faintly like i though it would, given that it's only oil and no candles to lit them. The electric fragrance and aromatic candle aren't as strong as this one. For me, the electric fragrance and candle would have faint smell after few hours, while the Reed Diffuser work like aromatic oil. If you want long-lasting fragrance for your room, go for these two!

Cons: You can't mix the fragrant if you're getting tired of it, unlike the aromatic oil which can be mixed and changed. Limited variances of fragrant. There's not many fragrant oil with diffuser on the Lovely Lace shop (only four, so far! i don't know whether they have another fragrance on other shop or not), and other Reed Diffuser don't smell as nice as Lovely Lace's, or if they do, they're much pricier and with smaller size. Yankee Candle's diffusers are the example.

DIY Manicure at home~~

It's December already, and although here in Indonesia we don't have winter season, it's certainly raining hard almost everyday, and it's colder in the night. So i thought to post a DIY manicure for treating your hands, and this post is dedicated for my friend who currently studying at America *miss you so much*. She has dry skin and this winter must be really torturing her skin, plus she's majoring in engineer so i don't think she has much time to go to salon and get a manicure. So, without further anymore, here it is!

You will need:
  • a bowl of warm water
  • Opi Manicure : Efferscent soak (optional)
  • large towel
  • nail buffer and nail clipper
  • cuticle pusher
  • OPI cuticle oil (or other cuticle oil that you have)
  • hand lotion
OPI Efferscent Soak

It's in powder shape

OPI nail & cuticle repleneshing oil

Start!
  1. Spread the large towel on the table to prevent water splatter around
  2. Put a tablespoon of OPI efferscent soak on a bowl of warm water (i'm using medium bowl which used for eating noodles), stir.
  3. Soak both your hands 10-15 minutes or until the water cooled down.
  4. Using the same towel, pat dry your hands.
  5. Buffer your nails and clip it(optional). buffering your nails is the same as exfoliating your skin. If you have yellowish nails from using too much nail polish, buffering it will exfoliate your yellowish nail and your nail will back to normal color again after buffering it.
  6. Push down some cuticles if you have cuticle problem, if not, skip this step
  7. Apply a drop of OPI cuticle oil on each nail and rub it around your nails and fingers.
  8. Finally, use your hand lotion, and paint your nail if you want

NB:
  •  Cuticle oils is much more moisturizing than hand cream/lotion. So if you have a really rough cuticles and skin around your nails, i really recommend using one. Just use it once or twice a week, and if makes a difference to your finger. My fingernails is always look rough, but after i use cuticle oil from OPI, I never have such problem again
  • OPI Efferscent Soak is just a luxury on your manicure routine, plus it brightening your nails. if you don't have to use it if you don't want
  • If you have a rough cuticles but you don't want to spend money on OPI cuticle oil, on the step which use cuticle oil, you can mix 3 tablespoon of olive oil with 2 tablespoon of sugar and rub it around your hands and cuticles, wrap it with plastic wrap for about 10 minutes, and rinse it with warm water, but don't use soap, as this will be waste your effort, because the olive oil is suppose to remain and absorped into your skin. After that, continue with the rest step.

Disclaimer: all the photos above is taken from google, because as always, my camera is really suck catching image and i dont really want to wait until noon to take a picture (which i usually do if i want to post some make-up and nail polish color). Besides, it's not a post majoring in color-theme article, so i just saving time by googling it. Sorry for the laziness in me -_-;;

My Birthday Gift!! (and a little review on them)

It's a tad bit late, but i'm so busy that i didn't get a chance to post this earlier. My birthday is on November 5, knowing me and my personalities, somehow they all give me presents with fashion things which surprised me because i love to read literature and historical romance as well, but noone give me such a thing! LOL

soo...here's some of my presents which i love :3

First ones are lipstick and lipgloss is from Anna Sui. As always, their packaging is cute! Here's what it looks like on their own and the swatches:

The pink lipstick has gold shimmer in it, and when combined with the gold lipgloss, it adds shine without making lips looked like you just eat something oily, it actually makes your lips looks shimmery and just so cute! pardon me for not showing the result on my lips, as i don't know how to make the color pop up in my camera when i zoomed in to my mouth.

Next is bag from Charles & Keith:

This present is from my mom, and i tag along with her when she bought it so i can choose the one i like. Actually, this bag didn't catch my eyes on the first sight, i just think that it's just your usual big bag, and i already set my eyes on other bag with soft cream color. but my mom said to tried it anyway. When i tried it out, it somehow looks very cute and beats every bag on the counter. Really, i didn't think it would look so cute and elegant at the same time, considering other bags are cuter it design. But it's really the cutest when i tried it and looked on the mirror.

The colour is in soft pink-beige colour, and it's much cuter on the actual color. Please do check it out when you happen to go to Charles & Keith on Plaza Senayan (as i don't see this bag on other counter) :D

P.S: do you realize? The Charles & Keith logo is on the chain accessories instead, not like the usual logo which is on some gold rectangular plate

I think it looks so much better with this kind of idea, because it's accesorize the bag too at the same time. So far I only saw tho type of bag from CK which has this chain as their logo, this one and other bag with long slide and velvet  dark brown color. I hope CK amke other design with this kind of accessories (or maybe other kinds which can accessorize the bag too?) instead of just the plain, usual one :D

Next is handmade pearl earrings from Swarovski

It's quite simple, not like my usual earring but it look good with simple updo or side wavy hair :D

OH, and last but not least, i actually want to post this for a long time, but i kinda forgot. My fave nail color from O.P.I which i wore on my birthday:
O.P.I Not Like The Movies

As you can see, it's chrome color! The one thing that i like is it changing color between deep purple and green under the sunlight, but grey color on the dimlight like on the ballrom or  restaurant with little lamp like on Pizza e Birra

Well, that's all for this post. Actually there's other gifts but i think it would be too long, so i decided to post the top three gifts that i like. :D

Disclamer: the opi swatch isn't my nail, i digged it up on the google, and i found the one which looks the same as the actual color when i wear them.
It actually kinda hard to take the chrome color, as it just show up as plain grey on the camera (and that's what it looks like with other swatches on google too) so i'm kinda happy to found the pic which can do justice with the color. It's so pretty, isn't it? :D

Potato Latkes Recipe

I write this recipe due to niki-chan's request (thanks so much for the request!) :D
First thing I want to say, potato latkes (or potato pancake, whichever you wanna call it), is a traditional cuisine from many country such as Germany, Luexembourg, Austria, Latvia, etc. It's traditionally eaten on Hanukkah Festival by Jews. It's ingredients is so simple, yet tasty and can feel like it's special on different serving which makes this recipe is my fave to make :D

Electric Fragrance which is cheaper, easier, and last longer than Fragrance Candle? Yes. please!

Hi guys! after the last post, i actually bough two candles again with niki-chan's advice, i got cinnamon stick and french vanilla from Yankee Candle.

But yesterday, i went again to Ace Hardware (yeah i know, i go there alot with my friends, coz Ace Hardware at Grand Indonesia has too much cute products, mainly for kitchen set and daily life XD). When i went to the candle section, i saw some new collection from Yankee Candle. they have electric fragrances, diffusers, and room spray.

The electric fragrance doesn't have too many scents like the candle (since it's fairly new), it only has French Vanilla, Fresh Cut Roses, Home Sweet Home, and Clean Cotton. But I believe they'll stock up again after some time :D

I bough the Home Sweet Home fragrance. it says:
" A heartwarming blend of cinnamon, baking spices, and a hint of freshly poured tea."
indeed, my room is filled with cinnamon scent and make me feels like snuggling and curling on my bed inside my blanket on rainy day which is colder that my usual room with only AC ^^

the unit has flower details on it which don't show up on camera

well, basically, you just open the bottle's cap and put it inside the unit and plug it. you can control the smell from sheer to strong, which is good. it says it holds until 6 weeks (which is, usually people never plug off this thing, they just use it 24/7). totally last longer than the candle *which up until 150 hours on large jar* , especially if you use it only a few hours per day

The electric fragrance is IDR 129.500 and the refill is IDR 99.500 with two bottles/pack which is totally cheaper than the candle.

P.S. : when i went yesterday, the candles aren't as much as the last time i went, but they have more the aromatherapy fragrance from Yankee Candle, maybe that's the reason. But i heard from my friend that ACE Hardware on Mall Artha Gading has much more candles than Grand Indonesia (they only have 2 big racks here), and they put it on cute racks too. then maybe they sell more electric fragrance to choose instead of only four. i'll check it out later. Besides, on the website they have so many fragrance to choose (but not as much as the candle) which make me so exited

Yankee Candle

Today  I went to ACE Hardware Grand Indonesia, and while the others are on the toy section, i went ahead myself to the candle section. I've been seeing the Yankee Candle for almost a year now, and decided to buy it. I love all the fragrant (honestly, they all smell soo good!), these are my top fave:
-  Midnight Jasmine
- Fluffy Towels
- Vanilla Cupcake
French Vanilla
- Fresh Cut Roses
Wedding Day

after so much struggling, i cut them down until 3 left: Vanilla Cupcake, Fresh Cut Roses, and Wedding Day.
I love the Vanilla cupcake (if you don't know, i like every scent which smell like cookies/flowery/sweet). It smells like a caramel. But when i smell it, i think the caramel smell is too sweet, so i decided between the FCR and Wedding. I want to buy the FCR at first, because it smells like roses (not too much, but very fresh and flowery) and it's pink, which is good because it matches my room (which was decorated with soft pink and cream furniture)

Fresh Cut Roses

But when i think about it again, i already have the English Rose fragrant oil from lovely lace which smell like this one, so in the end i bought the Wedding Day.

  Wedding Day (Large Jar)

"Always in good taste . . . a sophisticated and soothing blend of florals and subtle fruits."
